What's On Mornington Peninsula | September 13, 2019

September 10, 2019

Friday the 13th and the weekend ahead looks like being a great one on the Mornington Peninsula, here's some of our top picks of what's on...

Birds in the Australian Garden | Saturday 14th September from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM @ Royal Botanical Gardens Victoria - Cranbourne

Join for a free walk to identify some of the birds often spied in the Australian Garden. Hear stories about how they have shaped the forests and wildflowers of Australia and listen and look for birds flying, feeding and nesting as you explore the landscape.

Cruden Farm Blossom Time | 15 September from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM @ Cruden Farm, 60 Cranbourne Road (entry off Cranhaven Road), Langwarrin

Cruden Farm is one of Victoria's most exciting green spaces. It is a place of public recreation, located less than an hour from Melbourne. The property was left by Dame Elisabeth Murdoch for people to enjoy and consists of wondrous manicured gardens and peaceful walking areas, set amongst interesting bushland and lakes.

September sees the start of real Spring in the garden, with the flowering cherries and crab-apples indeed abundant; alongside the late blooming daffodil bulbs. The elms show their delightful green blossoms in literal pom-poms of colour. Come and listen to the constant buzz of the bees as they dash from one flower to the next; it's a busy time of the year for everyone in Cruden Farm's gardens.

On Sunday 15th September you are welcome to take a tour or just come for the day and have a leisurely stroll around the gardens and farm. You are welcome to bring a snack or lunch or you can purchase light refreshments from the pop-up kitchen window!

The Nutcracker - Victorian State Ballet | Sunday 15 September 2.30pm @ Frankston Arts Centre Davey Street, Frankston

This delightful and powerful ballet will enchant children and grown-ups alike. It’s a rich display of mesmerising classical ballet performed by stars of the Victorian State Ballet.

Join Clara at her Christmas party, as she ventures into her Nutcracker prince's magical land. Delight at the famous sugar plum fairy pas de deux, breathtaking snow scenes (with snowflakes that light up), a beautiful Christmas tree and party surprises.
