What's On Mornington Peninsula | August 16, 2019

August 16, 2019

I'm writing the weekend preview on a sunny Friday afternoon thinking how good is it living on the Mornington Peninsula this time of year! There's always something great to do in our local area, here's my top picks for this weekend...

Max's Winter Feasts | Saturday 17 August 7-10:30PM @ Max's Restaurant 53 Shoreham Road, Red Hill South

Banish the cold this season at our hugely popular winter feasts!
Dine on a three course shared platter feast before rugging up and moving outside to be wowed by a spectacular fire show, culminating in the lighting of a bonfire made of vine prunings. Toast marshmallows and sip on mulled wine, perfect to keep you warm on a cold winter's evening.

Get in touch with Max's Restaurant for bookings and more info.

Winter Family Fun Day | Sunday 18 August 9AM-5PM @ Green Olive at Red Hill 1180 Mornington Flinders Rd, Main Ridge

Put on your warm jackets and winter boots for an exciting Winter Family Fun Day!
With activities such as Market Stands, Face Painting, Meeting the Animals, a Jumping Castle, Mulled Wine, and competitions; there's plenty of activities for kids and adults alike!

Cruden Farm | The Splendour of Bulbs | Sunday 18 August 10AM-4PM @ Cruden Farm 60 Cranbourne Road, Langwarrin

In August, the area around the lake is spectacular. Drifts of daffodils carve shapes in the landscape, backed by the yellow haze of wattles in bloom. The chill of winter is forgotten, with the promise of early spring.

Cruden Farm is open on Sunday 18 August, for you to take a tour or just come for the day and enjoy a leisurely stroll around the gardens and farm. You are welcome to bring a snack or lunch or you can purchase light refreshments from our pop up kitchen window.

If you are a keen gardener, you will really enjoy doing a tour to learn more about this extraordinary place. A member of the gardening team will lead you around the gardens explaining Dame Elisabeth's vision in developing Cruden Farm over 80 years.

Tours last for more than an hour. The Sunday tour commences at 10am sharp and must be pre-booked. Contact the venue for details.
