A lot of us get a few months into the year and start looking for when the next long weekend is coming, if that's you we have good news... it's THIS weekend! 

 

With a weather forecast of 26-28 degrees and mostly sunny across the three days, this weekend is looking like being a great one for getting out in the local Mornington Peninsula community. 

 

Here's a look at our top picks of what's happening in the local area...

 

The 90th Red Hill Show |  Saturday 10th of March from 8.30 am  

 

The Red Hill Showgrounds come alive with the festivities of one the State's most popular agricultural shows. 


Aside from the remarkable array of animals including Clydesdales, Gypsie Cobs, cattle, sheep, alpacas, poultry, minature goats, working dogs and more, the show also features the 2nd Red Hill Cider Show with special guest Richard Cornish. The award-winning ciders will be available for Public Tasting. Pavilions will be filled with flowers, fruit, vegetables, cooking, craft, photography and art. 

 

The country's best also fight it out for a Victorian Title in the woodchop arena. 
There will be plenty of free music, activities and attractions for the whole family. Don't miss the Grand Parade at 3.00pm!

The Tyabb Air Show | Sunday 11th of March from 9 am 

 

Australia's Premier Country Air Show. The 2018 Airshow theme is 'War & Peace' 
Featuring aircraft old and new, fast and slow, the show is certain to be fun for the whole family.

Rosebud Kite Festival |  Sunday 11th of March from 11 am @ Rosebud Foreshore Jetty Road, Rosebud

 

A festival of kite flying including displays of maxi kites by professional, international and interstate flyers. Free family entertainment throughout the day.

See how to make a kite, fly a kite and watch the professionals display their maxi kites.Set on the beautiful Rosebud foreshore, the festival is focused on the art of kite flying but is supported with a host of free kids activities, carnival rides, food stalls and live music.

Labour Day Weekend Mornington Racecourse Market | Sunday 11th of March 


A weekend away on the Mornington Peninsula is not complete until you've strolled through of one of the meandering Craft Markets. Shop like a local at Mornington Racecourse Market on Sunday 11th March, this market showcases the best of what the Mornington Peninsula has to offer. 

A makers market, where everything sold is hand made, home made or home grown.

Dining options are aplenty with street food vendors serving up delicious take away food. Relax on the lawn and enjoy live music while you tuck in.
